Beacon Hill is one of Boston’s original neighborhoods.  Its name was derived from… you guessed it - a beacon which sat on top of its hill which guarded and warned of Invasion.  That location today is home to the Massachusetts State House.

Although much of Beacon Hill’s colonial charm remains, this vibrant neighborhood is known as much for its Charles St boutique shops and restaurants as it is for its politics.  The neighborhoods population itself is small, which creates a cozy, small town feel.

While many are colonial era homes, there is also an extensive mix of Federal and Victorian style row houses.  Gas lamps and brick sidewalks line the streets.  The charm and character of the area, as well as proximity to downtown business district make Beacon Hill one of the most expensive and desirable areas in Boston
